Welcome to the New Hope UO Housing System guide! Owning a house is one of the most rewarding aspects of Ultima Online, providing storage for loot, secure quarters for crafting, and a canvas for creative customization.

Acquiring a House[edit]

There are two primary methods to acquire a house in New Hope:

Classic Houses (Pre-built): Purchase pre-built house deeds from the Real Estate Broker in towns. These deeds are instantly placed as completed structures.
Customizable Foundations: Purchase a House Placement Tool from NPC architects, which allows placing a blank foundation plot to custom-build your own house.

House Placement Tool[edit]

The House Placement Tool allows you to choose from a variety of customizable plot sizes ranging from 7x7 to 15x15 and larger. Each plot size details its available storage limits, item lockdowns, and cost in gold coins.

Placing a Foundation[edit]

When placing a customizable house, you will see a validation warning informing you that:

Placing a new house will condemn any other houses you currently own.
There is a cooldown of one real-life week for house placement or transfer.

Upon accepting the terms, a flat stone foundation is placed, which serves as your empty plot.

Customizable Design Mode[edit]

Double-click your house sign and select the Customize tab to enter customizable design mode. In this mode:

You can build walls, floors, doors, stairs, and roofs using a vast menu of graphic tiles.
Constructing elements deducts gold directly from your bank balance when committing the design.
You can clear or backup your draft designs at any time.

House Management & Security[edit]

House Information[edit]

The Information tab on your house sign displays property ownership, the exact creation timestamp, house value, and the total number of visits from other players. Customizable houses are automatically refreshed as long as the account remains active.

House Security[edit]

The Security tab allows you to manage access control lists:

Co-Owner List: Set trusted players as co-owners who can place secure containers and manage house settings.
Friends List: Allow friends to enter private areas and use non-locked house features.
Access List / Bans: Restrict or ban unwelcome players.
Remove Alt Characters Toggle: You can enable or disable the "Remove Alt Chars" toggle. When active, removing or banning a player will automatically apply the same action to all of their alt characters on the same account.

Storage Shelf Integration[edit]

To maximize house storage efficiency and automate adventuring preparations, homes support the Storage Shelf System.

Players can secure a Storage Shelf inside their home to store up to 336 distinct supply types in unlimited quantities without consuming standard container item limits.
When standing inside the house or near the shelf, players can use the [resupply macro command to instantly withdraw missing supplies and automatically equip missing gear directly onto their paperdoll!

Caravan Wagon House (5×10 Gypsy Wagon)[edit]

Overview: The Caravan Wagon House is a unique 5×10 custom gypsy camp wagon house complete with wooden wheels, entrance steps, a south-facing brass house sign, and a customizable tent canopy.
Storage Capacity: Provides 425 lockdowns and 3 secure containers (Default value: 150,000 gp).
How to Obtain: Automatically awarded to every account via the New Hope 3rd Month Celebration Gift Box (3rd Month Commemorative Caravan Wagon Deed, Blessed).

Armor Mannequins (Display Sets & Outfits)[edit]

Where to Buy: Purchase a Mannequin Deed from any Carpenter or Tailor NPC vendor for 50,000 gp.
How to Use: Place the mannequin inside your house to proudly display full Hope Armor sets, Peerless boss armor sets, rare weapons, and custom-dyed outfits for visitors to admire.
Customization: Double-click or use the context menu on your placed mannequin to equip/strip gear, rotate facing direction, or customize its pose and appearance.
