Treasure Maps & Lockpicking Overhaul[edit]
New Hope UO features a modernized, user-friendly Hopelands Treasure Expedition interface and an interactive Chest Security & Disarm system for Treasure Hunters and Rogues.
1. Hopelands Interactive Treasure Map Interface[edit]
Every Treasure Map (Levels 1 through 7) on Hopelands displays its exact (X, Y) coordinates in its item tooltip and opens a two-stage visual expedition map when double-clicked:

Click 🔍 Zoom to Spot at the bottom right to switch to a 21×21 Local Terrain Close-Up grid showing surrounding land, water, trees, and buildings around the chest spot. |

Travel to the marked spot with a Shovel or Pickaxe and dig up the buried Treasure Chest! |

2. Chest Security & Disarm Gump (Lockpicking & Remove Trap)[edit]
When interacting with a locked or trapped Treasure Chest, the New Hope UO - Chest Security & Disarm interface opens:
- Live Diagnostics: Displays the Chest Rank (Level 1 Apprentice up to Level 6 Legendary Vault), your current Lockpicking and Remove Trap skills, your exact Lockpicking Success %, and the Trap Trigger Risk %.
- Left Panel (Lockpicking Mechanism): Shows your remaining Lockpick charges in your backpack. Click Attempt Lockpick or enable Continuous Lockpick to automatically pick the lock until it opens!
- Right Panel (Trap Disarming): Uses a Trap Removal Tool to safely disarm chest traps before opening. Supports Continuous Disarm to automatically repeat disarm attempts until the trap is neutralized.

3. Trap Removal Tool & Training[edit]
- Trap Removal Tool: A specialized 30-charge disarming pincer tool. When crafted from higher-tier metal ingots, it provides a passive +Disarm Bonus % to help neutralize high-level chest traps.
- Trap Training Chest: Available in training areas (such as Ashford) to safely practice Remove Trap without lethal explosions.
- Treasure Map Tome: Store all your uncompleted Level 1–7 Treasure Maps and Messages in a Bottle inside a Treasure Map Tome!
