New Hope UO - Gargoyle Race and Restrictions[edit]
This page outlines the racial features, equipment limitations, and custom modifications for the Gargoyle race on our shard.
1. Gargoyle Woodcutting (Axe Usage)[edit]
- Issue: Gargoyles could not equip standard human/elf axes, resulting in the message: *"The axe must be equipped for any serious wood chopping."*
- Solution: Bypassed the requirement to equip the axe for the Gargoyle race. Gargoyles can now double-click any axe in their backpack to chop wood successfully.
2. Gargoyle Dungeon Flying[edit]
- Issue: Dungeon mount restrictions blocked flying, as flying is internally treated as mounting.
- Solution: Added an exception for flying Gargoyles in the dungeon mount checks. Gargoyles can now fly freely in Hopelands dungeons.
3. Weapons and Armor Limitations[edit]
- Armor Restrictions: Gargoyles can only wear Gargish-specific armor types (Gargish Plate, Leather, Stone, Wing Armor, Talons, etc.). They cannot wear Human/Elf armor.
- Weapon Restrictions: Gargoyles can only use Gargish-specific weapons (Gargish Axe, Kryss, Katana, etc.).
- Alter Item (Conversion): Players can use the Alter Item option found in Blacksmithing, Tailoring, Carpentry, and Tinkering menus to convert standard human/elf items into their Gargish counterparts.
